Too bad this is an OLD procedure.

My son's circumcision was NOTHING like what is described.

neither was my grandsons. nothing even close to that. all he did is respond to the cold of liquids used to clean and numb the area. He barely whimpered. circs are no longer barbaric as the one described.

Even if the baby feels NO pain, the simple fact is that parents are given the right to mutilate another person's genitals. Mutilation of a human being's body is always wrong unless it is necessary in that moment. Seeing as any boy is capable of one day saying, "I want my foreskin removed," there is no reason for parents to make that decision at birth, whether it's so the boy looks like his father, or for the potential to avoid certain diseases.

Any boy, even my own son, can step forward at a later date and say they want the procedure done, or a doctor can say the procedure needs to be done to prevent later problems. Unnecessary procedures should never be done unless the patient wants or NEEDS them.

I got my son circumsized because I was told by my mother that was what you are supposed to do. A very naiive decision. I was allowed to watch the procedure, and while I instantly regretted it while watching, my sons procedure was nothing like you described.

Perhaps it was like the OP back when I was born??

Our son was circumcised two days after birth over 19 years ago and did not experience any of this.

Nice attempt at swaying, however............

A post full of lies designed to scare people will not help your cause.

I was standing right there when my son was circumcised. Wasn't even remotely like this.

I had it done to my son, because in our country is a choice, my husband is not circumcised, and he felt that it would be easier in hygiene for our son to have it done. So we based out decision on personal experience, and you know what is the best thing I have ever done, he is Autistic and super convenient cause we don't have to fight to pull back and wash.... So yeah, am good.
