We still have lots of blue laws here. It's only been in the last 20 yrs that stores have started to open for a few hours on Sunday.

I honestly don't know my state's policy on porn.  lol  Now I'm wondering!  We're one of those "liberal" northern states though.  ;)

If we're REALLY desperate, we can drive 40 min. east into Wisconsin to buy alcohol.

Quoting ashellbell:

Yup, we can't buy liquor on sunday here or sell porn lol.

Quoting TCgirlatheart:

 Interesting.  Thanks for sharing.

I wonder when/if we'll get around to some of the other blue(?) laws.  Like not being able to sell a car or liquor or Sunday.  At least for those areas that still have those laws.

I went to college in a small, very Catholic town about an hour north of the Cities, and everything seemed to close at 6pm on Sunday.  It was SO frustrating.

That's how it is here. On Sunday the mall opens at 12 and closes at 6. We do now have a 24hr Wally World, but, thats about it.

The county does not allow liquor sales, but, the city I live in does, except for Sunday, so, if you wanted to drink, you either have to visit the bootlegger or drive to the county line. lol

Most of the banks and the courthouse is only open half a day on Wed still. Talk about inconvenient.

There are so many old laws on the books all over that are just not used anymore. I think all cities, counties and states should go through and do away with all the outdated stuff.

I'm a heathen, what makes Wednesdays so special?  :D

I think it's because it is church day too. You know, Sundays and Wednesdays, church time.

I know. That was more aimed at the original author if the law and any subsequent people who would introduce one. Good for this guy on his attempts to overturn it. Hopefully it comes from a legitimate desire to protect freedom, and not because he just wants to insult a person or people, if that makes sense. Maybe I should read the link, lol.

Quoting ashellbell:

He didn't suggest them, he wants to overturn them. Apparently the law stands that bladphemy is a misdemeanor here!

Quoting jessilin0113:

Anybody that suggests blasphemy laws hates America.
