Meanwhile, in Oklahoma, blasphemy is still a misdemeanor...

Yeah, I dont know if it is that way in other states, but, here in the bible belt it's sun and wed. lol
Quoting TCgirlatheart:
I knew about Sundays, but not Wednesdays.
Quoting muslimahpj:I think it's because it is church day too. You know, Sundays and Wednesdays, church time.
Quoting TCgirlatheart:I'm a heathen, what makes Wednesdays so special? :D
Quoting muslimahpj:
That's how it is here. On Sunday the mall opens at 12 and closes at 6. We do now have a 24hr Wally World, but, thats about it.
The county does not allow liquor sales, but, the city I live in does, except for Sunday, so, if you wanted to drink, you either have to visit the bootlegger or drive to the county line. lol
Most of the banks and the courthouse is only open half a day on Wed still. Talk about inconvenient.
Quoting TCgirlatheart:
I went to college in a small, very Catholic town about an hour north of the Cities, and everything seemed to close at 6pm on Sunday. It was SO frustrating.
Quoting muslimahpj:
We still have lots of blue laws here. It's only been in the last 20 yrs that stores have started to open for a few hours on Sunday.

I know most Catholic Churches hold mass on both days... and it is common in the south for the other churches to do so as well. (I used to go to church three times a week as a Catholic... it was very... boring)

Yes and then on Sundays, I did sunday school (or the class for my first communion... started on the confirmation, but we moved off base before I could finish that and the RCC in the town we moved too was in a dangerous part of town.. Catholics were not liked much in this town)

lol, 'Sconnie run!
Quoting TCgirlatheart:I honestly don't know my state's policy on porn. lol Now I'm wondering! We're one of those "liberal" northern states though. ;)
If we're REALLY desperate, we can drive 40 min. east into Wisconsin to buy alcohol.
Quoting ashellbell:
Yup, we can't buy liquor on sunday here or sell porn lol.
Quoting TCgirlatheart:
Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I wonder when/if we'll get around to some of the other blue(?) laws. Like not being able to sell a car or liquor or Sunday. At least for those areas that still have those laws.
lol
