JC Penney 'starting fresh'

A project of the American Family Association is claiming victory in the changes JC Penney is making to its advertising.

In monitoring JC Penney's website and advertisements over the last few months, OneMillionMoms executive director Monica Cole tells OneNewsNow what her group has found.

Cole, Monica

"They have changed what they're promoting, and instead of lifestyle, they're promoting their brand names and products, which is what they should be promoting," she states.

Earlier this year, JC Penney launched an ad campaign with television personality and homosexual activist Ellen DeGeneres. The chain also featured Mother's Day and Father's Day ads depicting homosexual couples with children. But as Cole points out, DeGeneres has been absent from the campaign since April -- without reason.

"There's been no word, but we have noticed there's been a significant difference," the OneMillionMoms executive notes. "And since Michael Francis, the president of JC Penney … left abruptly, there has been a huge change in what they are promoting. The Advertising Age article stated that the CEO, Ron Johnson, said he scrapped all July advertisements and started fresh."

Even so, Cole asserts that OneMillionMoms will continue to monitor JC Penney and its advertisements and will alert members if there are any changes.

OneMillionMoms.com is a division of the American Family Association, the parent organization of the American Family News Network, which operates OneNewsNow.com.

Candle this source is outstanding! I knew when I saw the cross on the red white and blue that I would be in for a treat, as well as the offer for a book about God's redeeming love. Well, as long as you buy the book, I guess. But I digress...

First, I of course went to the comments section of your article. I loved reading people talk about "them queers" and how Ellen "Degenerate" (how I miss 7th grade) is one of those filthy queers. One woman writes about how she will not allow her children around gays and queers and how their spread is akin to Nazi Germany. I didn't fully understand that one, because Nazi Germany exterminated their gay population along with "them Jews.". Perhaps she was advocating that position? Again, it was unclear.

I then read an article that said if you're a member of the Democratic Party, you can't be a Christian. Seriously? Says who? Do you really believe this tripe? I mean, seriously, this is some hateful stuff.

As always, great stuff!

JCPenney's issues have nothing to do with Ellen DeGeneres or their ads depicting homosexual couples.  JCPenney's quality and merchandise appeal has gone to crud.  They changed their incentives too, which certainly did not help them.

I don't shop there anyway. They haven't changed, it just seems as if they did.

JC Penney made a huge gamble and they lost.

They gambled that by removing special "percent off" sale days, and having "everyday low prices" that people would want to shop there more.

Sales dropped by almost a quarter, year to year.

That CEO is now gone and they are revamping.

But they have absolutely no appeal to younger shoppers, and as their older shoppers die off, they will be fighting a losing battle.

These One Million Moms (who aren't a million strong, lol) are a bunch of idiots.

wel....our Penney's has remodeled and looks great and lots of teens and young women shop there.  I still do. I love their brands ( Not the old lady brands  that are also sold at Macy's )I love their merchandise. Their home store is great. I do miss the coupons but that is not a deal breaker. I hope they put Ellen back in their ads. The "Million" Moms are losers.

Oh wow....that is a bunch of crazy stuff!

I used to watch that funny show "Good ChristianBelles" because I have known a few southern "christian" women like some of the characters on that show. I am sure the show was too real and they had to get it off the air,

Talk about idiots---those "Millions Moms" win the award for second place in most prejudiced and undereducated groups in the USA.!( Oh, besides the KKK,of course, who win first place.)
