I am so ready for Thanksgiving this year, and trying a bunch of new recipes. It will be the first time in 9 years that I have hosted family for the holiday, so I'm excited and going all out (even if it is just for a set of in-laws ;)). Anyone have any recipes they would like to share? I'll post some of what I'm doing this year in the replies.
Sweet potatoes/yams are my favorite to do variations on (I do something different every year). This year, I may overdo it with two seperate dishes, one side one dessert:

I always make pumpkin pie using the recipe on the Libby's can.
Stuffing made with bread celery onions and sage.
None if us like cranberry sauce! Shock

it has been a while but I believe vanilla pudding mix is used in the pumpkin and its topped with whipped cream. The crust gets filled with caramel and pecans. Will post recipe if people decide they are interested
Here is the pie recipe. It actually calls for pudding not just the mix
My dd would LOVE this.

Oh, soup sounds good. I have a recipe for pumpkin pancakes from a Paleo website that I might do for Thanksgiving day breakfast...
Quoting Sisteract:I made fresh roasted pumpkin soup tonight- it was yummy.
I am also hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year.
