This is what happens when you equate porn with perversion

Posted by   + Show Post

Long story short, a 17yo girl was caught looking at porn, which is totally normal, and her parents freaked and assumed she was a defective perv, so she made up a story to explain her perversion and said she was molested by a neighbor kid when she was little, and the innocent guy spent years in prison for child molestation.

I could not have said it better....

Quoting CDMelty:

Exposure to sex, especially porn, is harmful to children. But a 17yo is not a child. And the harm that porn does to children isn't all that relevant with older teens. Older teens have their own natural sexual interests and are MUCH less likely to have their views formed by porn. They can be infulenced by it, sure, the same way they can be infulenced by rap lyrics, Victoria's Secret catalogs, and television. But watching porn (or being molested, or just seeing sex at all) is harmful to children because it forms their views of sex.  Forms vs infulences. You see a 3way at age 9, you think that's a common and expected sex act, that 3ways are intimacy and are what grown-ups do. You see a 3way at 17, you're capable of forming your own opinion, of thinking "Fine, that's out there and people do it, but it doesn't appeal to me." Puberty, hormones, interest in physical and romantic relationships are going to tell you what you want to personally engage in more than porn will. But if porn is your first sexual thought, it will do more than just expose you to a sex scene.

You didn't burst my bubble at all honeypie. The harmfullness of pornography isn't subjective. Its a scientifically proven fact. Visit yourbrainonporn.com or do a little googling on what exactly porn does to the brain. At least be informed about these things before assuming that just because its popular means its healthy.

Just because you're not into porn and probably doesn't want a partner to be into it either doesn't make it wrong just because you say so.

Sorry to burst your bubble there cupcake.

I agree that what they did was obviously wrong but disagree that porn is totally normal. Perhaps "normal" as defined as "everyone does it" but not normal as defined as healthy and harmless.

Again, why all the hate for the parents?

They may have handled the situation wrong, to some, but the girl made the choice to lie and cause some one who was innocent to head to jail.

I agree with you. I suspect porn has been partly responsible for people finding sex to be the most important thing in their lives and causes marriages to fall apart. There is a lack of respect for people in porn and a lack of "being normal" in porn. Its sick. And when people accept what they see in porn as normal....well, that is a scary thought.

You do understand that all brains are not created equally, capiche?  While porn is most definitely harmful to some, ruins their lives and their relationships, this does not happen to EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO PARTAKES IN WATCHING PORN.

It is a turn on to most when they watch it with the guy/girl they are with, and hey, if you're single, it's a helpful tool in getting off.  Plus it gives the less creative something to be creative with.

Porn is fantasy and anyone who thinks otherwise is a moron, though I fuck like a porn star, so I have no issue with what's in porn either.

The only bad porn is real snuff porn and kiddie porn...those should not exist ever.

Also, porn IS BAD for children....children should never be subjected to anything sexual.

17 is not a child.

And you have just made it clear that you haven't actually done any research on it. :)

Oh, but I have.  I have done a few papers on porn and the guy mind for college way back when.  I was going for forensic psychcology and do know a little bit about this subject as it sometimes goes hand in hand with rape, torture and murder.

This is why I stated that there are some that should NEVER watch porn, and some that it will have no effect on.  I agree it is a problem for some, but not for all.
