You Keep Your God, I'll Keep My Science...(PIOG)

Do you think it has to be an either/or situation? That the two are mutually exclusive...I've seen so many people say they are completely incompatible and a person can only believe in one at the expense of the other...

Agree or disagree?

People that discount science because of their belief in a God scare me

Not every Christian discounts science. I, for one, have always been fascinated with science, as have both of my boys.

It's 100% possible for both to exist.

The problem comes from when one group attacks the other. I am an Atheist who has no problem with religious people being religious. And I have met many Christians who respect science but still believe in whatever they believe in.

I believe in both.

One is not exclusive.

I don't think they are completely incompatible, but I think the idea of science can be very threatening to deeply religious people. For them, accepting some scientific concepts would require having to rethink their beliefs/their religion/their God.

I disagree. Science and belief is God need not be mutually exclusively.

precisely why I didn't lump 'all' religious people together

No, I don't think it's an either or situation.
