I am trying to figure out if you are really serious here.

Yes elections are one way to limit the time someone spends in office.

Term limits are important. Someone sitting in office for 50 years has been there too long.

I am completely serious.  Someone sitting in office for 50 years is there because the people have voted for that person.

You don't live in my district, so you should have absolutely no say over who I decide to vote for, even if I vote for the same person for 30 years.

I do not like nanny governments, but I also do not agree with a monarchy form of government. Term limits have their purposes. And no one is telling you what decisions to make. You get to choose and decide who will be representing you in the next term.
