https://mega.co.nz/

Different URL of course though. Seems to be a big hit. The only problem being the amount of people trying to quickly jump back on board. 500,000 users within 14 hours.

A funny blurb from the Partnership part of their website:

Quote:

Unfortunately, we can't work with hosting companies based in the United States. Safe harbour for service providers via the Digital Millennium Copyright Act has been undermined by the Department of Justice with its novel criminal prosecution of Megaupload. It is not safe for cloud storage sites or any business allowing user-generated content to be hosted on servers in the United States or on domains like .com / .net. The US government is frequently seizing domains without offering service providers a hearing or due process.

He plans to release MegaBox within the next 6 Months. MegaBox being a website/cloud where artist can put up there music and instead of most of the money going to the publishers/companies the artist gets the majority of the money.

Or people can put up there music for free and get paid per download of their song.

I saw something about this the other day. I cannot believe we spent that money on arresting him.

It is indeed a grave misuse of resources.

One that I doubt will happen again. Since it didn't have any positive results (For them). It did boost Kim Dotcoms popularity and give him a lot of publicity. And considering the new MegaUpload is more secure it just lead to a better version of what they were trying to stop.

You do realize this wasn't a Democratic agenda, right? This was one motivated by the flow of money from the MPAA/Music/Movie Industry. This would have happened regardless of the Political Party that was occupying the White House.
