Would you, have you?

Taken your parents keys because they were not safe to drive anymore?

Would you?

How far you go in life depends on your being: tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of both the weak and strong.  Because someday in life you would have been one or all of these.  GeorgeWashingtonCarver

I cared for a woman who asked me if she was safe and when I told her I didnt think so, after a particularly frightening ride, she willingly relinquished her keys.

I almost did that last weekend. Dumbass guy wasn't paying attention to things like red lights.

My dad is only 54, my mom passed away almost 10 years ago. Dad is entirely capable, but if and when the time comes he's a danger on the road, my sisters and I will take away his keys.

I think there will come a time very soon when I'll have to talk to my mom about not driving anymore.  She still makes it to the store, but I no longer let my girls drive with her.

Hopefully my oldest will be driving soon and she'll be able to haul gramma around...but yes, when the time comes I will stop my mom if necessary.

I have not but I would.

My father in law is 80.  We are getting there.

My dad is 79.  No way in Hell anyone could take his keys.

I have ridiculously bad and worsening vision. I can't judge distances or depth very well. I don't drive at night as it is. Chances are someone is going to have to take my keys away before my mom gets to the age I would have to take hers.

Oh, gotcha.  My depth perception sucks big time too.
