School Shooting in Atlanta

Two shot, one in custody at Price Middle School in Atlanta



ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Police are at the scene of a shooting at Price Middle School in southeast Atlanta where at least two people have been shot and one person is in custody.

A spokesman with Atlanta police confirmed the shooting to CBS Atlanta News, and said that one of the two victims was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta. 

Police did not release further details into what lead up to the shooting, or who the victims or suspect were.

Price Middle School is located in the 1600 block of Benjamin Weldon Bickers. It is currently on lockdown.

A spokesperson with Atlanta Public Schools will be holding a news conference to release additional details in the shooting within the next hour.

The good guys aren't allowed to have guns in schools.

 14-year-old student who was shot in the head was one of two victims shot this afternoon at Price Middle School. The second victim was a teacher.

Yes. Because too often those "good" guys are not special forces sharp shooters and end up shooting innocent bystanders in an attempt to take down the shooter.

What the? Not all Atlanta middle schoolers are in gangs. My metro Atl middle school student is certainly not.
