Muslim Street Patrols Enforcing Sharia on London Streets

Posted by   + Show Post

I first heard about this on CNN this morning. Some men took it upon themselves to walk the streets at night and approach random people who were drinking alcohol or women who, in their perspective, were improperly dressed. I can't imagine being approached on the street by someone telling me I was in violation of Muslim law!  I couldn't find a link to an article but I found a video on youtube. I also found a video with a response from an Imam. I think it's only fair to show both links.

The Imam starts out praying in Arabic but he quickly switches to English. I think he is worth listening to.

That may be.  However forcing women to do this at the risk of infection and worse I can't agree with.  I stand by my post.

I hesitate to "like" this post but thanks for posting.

I find it interesting that people will ignore that FGM is not supported by Islam or the Quar'an, or the Hadith, since so much of them talk about leaving your body as God made it and also the numerous items about a woman's right to her own body and her right to the enjoyment of sex.  They also ignore the Christians in these countries who do the same thing all over Africa.  They refuse to admit that this horrible practice existed before any of the people became either Christian or Muslim, and is an entrenched cultural practice.  But no, it's a Muslim problem, right?  Until we can drop the religious aspect of it these girls will never be helped, however when given the choice of helping educate people and address the issues which make people resistant to changing the practice, they prefer to wrinkle their noses at those disgusting Muslims and use it villify the religion.  They don't care about the girls at all.

America's Forgotten History of Female Circumcision

In the USA, while involuntary female circumcision never became routine like involuntary male circumcision became, it was promoted and done by some of the same doctors who were doing it to boys.

The following six excerpt quotes are from actual American medical journals:

I respectfully disagree.  Please research the World Health Org research and the problems that have been introduced to Europe , who have never seen this in their culture and are now caring for patients with life long scars.  Here is one of many articles discussing the problem that you say doesn't exist.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/20/magazine/20circumcision-t.html?ref=femalegenitalmutilation&_r=0

Google it if you are brave enough and see the scars and children crying. It doesn't appear Islam put a stop to it, it looks like the people who practice this the most are Muslims.  I do understand not all do. I also understand cultural norms.

As for child brides not happening in Islam, please meet  10 year old Nujood Ali.  She disagrees with you as well.

You can lie to these people on here, you can't lie to me.

Quoting muslimahpj:

There is a huge difference between female genital mutilation in which the entire clitoris is removed and a form of female circumcision in which only the clitoral hood is removed.  Removing the hood is done to INCREASE PLEASURE.  Read this link more carefully:
