LGBT People Are Like ā€˜Developmentally Disabledā€™ Children Says WorldNetDaily Columnist

2013/02/09

Erik-Rush
In the battle for outrageous comments by the right-wing to back up their hypocrisy, it takes a lot to make a splash. Erik Rush of WorldNetDaily, however, has reached a new level with his piece published Thursday titled ā€œAmericansā€™ Intellectual Indolence.ā€

In it, he classified anyone who has a differing opinion as ā€œlow-informationā€ and ā€œmost of these are either laughably dim by nature or pitifully ignorant due to deep indoctrination.ā€ To continue, they are ā€œdedicated liberals evidence increasingly deeper delusion as they continue to advocate for our Marxist in chief. I suppose that this is to be expected, as pathetic and craven though it may be.ā€ Good way to start off a piece, complaining that the majority of the United States disagrees with you.

But, he goes off on a rant, claiming that the Obama administraion is being fiscally irresponsible, ignoring that Congress sets the budget, not the President. Then he claimed special insight into Obamacare, claiming that contrary to reality, Obamacare is an expensive socialized medicine system. If we only were so lucky.

But, the second half of his piece reveals the point of his rage. His rant turns on its heel, and he blames ā€“ wait for it ā€“ homosexuals. From his article:

One would think this a no-brainer; they need to continue to keep gays out of the BSA.

He then claimed that ā€œPrivate organizationsā€ have ā€œthe right to discriminate all they likeā€ and are under attack ā€œby a militant homosexual lobby that wishes to normalize the popular perception of homosexual behavior.ā€

I am convinced that many of its ā€œtrue believersā€ arenā€™t even aware they are merely pawns of the radical left, but given the latterā€™s tenacious modus operandi, otherwise intelligent, conscientious people have nonetheless subscribed to the prevailing propaganda proffered by an agenda-driven press and the homosexual lobby.ā€™

Then, thereā€™s the ongoing discussion and legislation relative to homosexual ā€œmarriage.ā€ Like black Klansmen and male sorority sisters, ā€œgay marriageā€ simply doesnā€™t exist. Oh, we have monogamous homosexual couples playing house, and certain states issuing marriage licenses to them, but thereā€™s no marriage there. This is because marriage is not a civil union; itā€™s an ordained one.

A very common argument by those on the right, failing to study their civics or history, where marriage was not an ordained right, but only a civil. The addition of religious overtones to marriage were not even formalized until the Council of Trent in 1563, and before that was a legal status, with few, if any, religious overtones. Same sex marriage was even fully legal throughout Europe until the Theodosian Code which imposed the Christian ideology of the Emperor Theodosius II onto the Byzantine Empire. Same Sex Marriage survived in the Meditteranian region, however, before finally being stomped out from the isolated oasis Siwa in the mid-20th century.

Then he tries to repeat the disproven claim that homosexuals are pedophiles:

Thereā€™s much more, of course: The widespread myth that homosexuality is normal rather than aberrant, that it is hard-wired into individuals rather than being a persuasion or choice, that it is not harmful to society, and that it is not harmful to children. One particularly dangerous fallacy advanced by homosexual activists is that pedophiles (such as those who have been charged with molesting Boy Scouts over the years) are not homosexuals.

Myth is something without a scientific base in reality. As homosexuality has a scientific basis this would make his arguments against it the myth. In addition, those who molest children are not homosexual at all.

But since when as a right-winger been interested in science?

To make his point, he closes by comparing those seeking equal rights with children. But not just any children:

These submissions against better judgment are analogous to capitulating to a developmentally disabled child who wants to play with matches simply because they have been persistent in their requests to do so. Obviously, the child does not know better; as the developmentally sound individual present, it is that personā€™s responsibility to refuse his or her requests, not defer to them.

A person seeking marriage equality, to Mr. Rush, is a developmentally disabled child.

Hatred is a funny thing. When one wishes to oppress a minority, often times the bigots will call them ā€œlike childrenā€ or worse, that they are out to harm women and children. With this move, it shows that he is little more than another right-wing bigot, using the same old tricks of the trade to try and impose his extremist viewpoint on to the United States. Mr. Rush, and others like him, would like to see nothing less than a Christian Taliban, a religious extremist government which rules by a narrow religious interpretation.

I would say that "they" are likely the aforementioned right wing bigots. If you aren't a right wing bigot, it likely wasn't directed at you.

Quoting fireangel5:

The lady doth not. I don't like being grouped together. I think that is wrong, regardless as to whomever you are grouping.

The article mentioned right wing, you said "they". I took "they" to be those being discussed in the article.

So, who exactly is "they"??

And FYI, I have no desire to have any type of Taliban or their beliefs/rules here in the US.

Quoting AdrianneHill:

The lady doth protest too much.

I never brought up republicans. I don't even think I mentioned conservatives in general. But I stand by that some Americans only think the Taliban is a bad thing because they are pushing Allah instead of Jesus. Most of the things implemented under TalIban rule would be welcomed in several states as long as they changed the language a bit to fit in here

Quoting fireangel5:

I am both Christian and a Republican. I want no such thing. I would prefer if you didn't paint us all with such a broad stroke.  Just  as it is wrong to paint every gay man as a child predator, it is wrong to paint all Christians or all Republicans as nut jobs or Christian Taliban.

Quoting AdrianneHill:

They do want a Christian Taliban. They don't even deny it anymore and instead say how they would be a different and better Taliban than the Asian one. For a group of people who claim liberals are always looking to the government for help, these people are the first to demand laws and amendments normalizing their bigotry as wholesome.

I also get angry when people are so positive that all homosexuals wants to have sex with little boys. When you bring up gay women, the bigots shrug because women don't have penises so they really can't rape or have sex with anything unless they bring toys in because sex is all about penetration and violence to them.

The same mother I saw in tears over the possibility if a gay man getting hold of their sweet boy asses was the same woman who told her own daughter to quit being so alluring when it became clear her high school science teacher was sexually interested in her to the point of dropping by the house at night unannounced. That behavior was the fault of the girl for being too hot according to her parents, when they called the school to complain about the teacher. Of course, if he had been coming after their high school son, he'd have been a dangerous instead of the pathetic predator as he was seen.

Sorry, I went in a rant there but that woman makes me nuts with her careless prejudices that are usually quite wrong. Her kids were no safer even though she let fear rule her life.

ETA: I feel I must add that she angered me so much because of her blatant sexism against both genders. It was a female's problem to control sexuality because makes wee wholly incapable of controlling themselves. She believed all men cheated and it was no excuse to go ruining a marriage about it. She told her daughter that one night an attempt to keep her daughter from leaving the drunken slut she was married to. Didn't work for my friend but it spoke volumes about her own marriage to my friend's father.

But she also believed they because males were so inherently and uncontrollably sexual you "could make them gay." All gay men were always ready for sex with any male and age want usually a concern. That's why she feared gay teachers more than the heterosexual men after her teenage daughter. Of course she loved and protected her daughter but felt the daughter should be in control of sexuality, her own and whatever male she was around. Needless to say, this unhappy woman is afraid and confused a good deal of the time

For a man who used a lot of big words, he really didn't have anything much to say, now did he? SMH, people need to just give it a break and learn to live and let live.

Every...all.....100%....word it how ever you'd like. But I did not say that this theory applied to every gay person...just the ones I have known....sorry if you take issue with my personal experiences, but it's not my problem to have to deal with your offense. I won't be a douche if you'll stop being a colostomy bag, deal?

Quoting caito:

"every gay"

As if LGBT people are a thing, not actual humans with thoughts and feelings?

"childish, juvenile, and molested before the age of 12"

I won't deny that I can act childish or juvenile, but I'm 24 and still have a couple hangups from my teenage years. But I can assure you with 100% accuracy that not all LGBT people were molested. I was never touched or abused in any way, shape, or form. Ever. It is offensive and wrong to suggest such a thing. You're not the first to do it, and you won't be the last. But it sucks. It really does. Don't be a douche.

Quoting KamWorthy:

I had a family member ( lesbian ) ......and even at 60 years old...she acted like she was 12. But part of this is she was molested at an early age so perhaps there is some correlation, since many homosexuals have experienced molestation. It's just a thought....not saying this is the case for ALL homosexuals...but every gay I have known and currently know, are all somewhat childish, juvenile, and have also been molested before the age of 12. Seems to me there should be some sort of study done to see if there is a correlation.

You need to meet more people. Most of the gay people I know are mature, degree-holding intellectuals who have never been molested. We all draw our friends from different pools though. All studies and surveys are going to have varying results depending on who does them and what segment of the population you speak to.

I somehow doubt many members of the gay community in Ivy League college towns are immature and were molested as children.
