Sister Joan Chittister, a Benedictine nun,
"I do not believe that just because you're opposed to abortion, that that makes you pro-life. In fact, in many cases your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed.
And why would I think that you don't?
Because you don't want any tax money to go there.
That's not pro-life.
That's pro-birth.
We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is.

I think what she says make sense. Many pro-lifers that I've encountered (notice I didn't say ALL) don't think beyond the birth.

BS. As a Benedictine nun, she should know better (if she even said this at all). The Church, of all places, should understand that God's economy runs on VOLUNTARY GIVING not extraction by way of taxes. Over and over we are urged to be cheerful givers, and to give and it will be given unto us...etc etc. Everything important is done because someone donates money or time - even in non-religious settings. Soup kitchens, health ministries, food banks, volunteers for legal, medical, social work - this stuff happens every day. It would happen more if people got involved and donated more.
This is absolute Democrat baloney.
Yes, I put my money where my mouth is. If you (general you) don't, you have absolutely no business urging more taxes to be extracted. Put up or shut up.
