Bat S*** Crazy and other sayings.....*fluff*

Posted by   + Show Post

Ok, totally random.

Just thought a light hearted post would be a nice break :-)

I read a post where a mom called another mom batsh*t crazy and I started wondering (not enough to look it up though lol) where the term came from. Is batsh*t crazy? How crazy is it?

What are some other phrases or sayings that make you go hmmmmm...but are in common usage?

Now I'm curious, why can't you teach grandma to suck eggs? lol!

Quoting terpmama:

Fell out of the stupid tree and hit every branch...

It's an old idiom about being uppity to your elders by trying to teach them something they are experts at.

Guano, bat feces, carries several deadly viruses including rabies.  I think that's where it came from.

I've always wondered about the idea of raining cats and dogs.  Ouch!

Quoting tscritch:

So they pooped so much it made someone crazy?

Good one!! No umbrella I own is going to stop them from getting to me!

I wasn't aware that it was so deadly.

My dad used to say when we had a hard rain that it was a toad strangler and a gully washer.

I just learned the origins of the phrase "get your goat" the other day...Apparently, goats are like horse xanax, and if you take their goat, they are more easily riled and anxious.

A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits.
