Dem Congressman Gets Thrown Off After Calling Hannity A Liar, Immoral: You’re ‘The Worse Excuse For A Journalist’

During a particularly contentious interview onSean Hannity‘s show tonight, Democratic congressman Keith Ellison launched into an angry tirade against the host, accusing him of being “immoral” and a liar. He told Hannity he continuously says things that aren’t true, pointing to his consistently blaming the massive debt onPresident Obama. Hannity immediately stopped the interview at this point and told Ellison that having him on was a waste of time.

Right at the top of the interview, Ellison told Hannity, “You are the worst excuse for a journalist I’ve ever seen.” He scolded Hannity for trying to blame the president instead of providing accurate information on the sequester fight, and called Hannity a “shill for the Republican party.” Hannity invited Ellison to “keep ranting.”

After Ellison spoke for a bit, Hannity cut him off to ask another question, but Ellison fired back, “No, wait a minute, you said I could rant, and I am.” Hannity said he’s had plenty of time to rant, but before he could get onto the next question, Ellison kept loudly talking. Hannity asked, “Why are you so angry?”

Hannity told Ellison he was acting “comical,” and in response to Ellison’s bewilderment and light mocking, he said he gave him enough time to rant without getting another question. Hannity said that in the spirit of bipartisanship they should have a dialogue. Ellison shot back, “I thought you weren’t a Republican.” Hannity clarified he’s a registered conservative.

Hannity then moved on to his question. He claimed the sequester was the Democrats’ fault, to which Ellison immediately insisted it was the Republican-led House’s fault. Hannity tried to call outPresident Obama for the massive debt, and Ellison fought back with a few suggestions for how Democrats want to lessen the debt, which Hannity practically laughed at.

As Hannity attempted to ask Ellison another question about the “immoral” debt, Ellison called Hannity immoral and accused him of telling lies. He insisted that the massive debt is not Obama’s fault, which led to a brief shouting match between the two men. Hannity cut Ellison off by telling him the interview was a “total waste of time.”

Yay Keith! He's from MY state. He was sworn in on Thomas Jefferson's Quran. Yes, he is a muslim. And he's a good man.

Most people think that Hannity is not very bright and says some rather rude things.

Do you think that Hannity was correct and that Fox should have shut down Mr Ellison? Or was he unfairly thrown off?

I am torn. He could have tried to remain more calm.

But I do understand Keth's impatience with Hannity.

I saw the show.  Ellison is a crazed lunatic.  He wouldn't answer Hannity's questions, and ranted for over 3 minutes, which is a long time in air time.  He even went on and on telling Hannity that Hannity was a registered republican, which he is not.  So, Hannity baited him, betting him $10,000 that he wasn't.  Yet this moron kept insisting he was.

Fox didn't shut him down.  Hannity ended the interview, since he couldn't get a coherent conversation going with the twit.  What do you expect him to do?  Let Ellison go on for another 5 minutes, making no sense, and end up cutting out another guest's appearance?

I can not even watch. Hannity makes my blood boil. I have fun watching O'Reilly but as soon as Hannity comes on my trigger finger starts to twitch and I have to switch  channels.

I don't like rants. On either side of the political spectrum. Hannity knows what his is: a media personality. That's it. Ellison was wasting his breath.

Also, Hannity is in no way a "journalist".

Keith made a total fool of himself! Wow.. If he thinks Hannity is so bad a "journalist" Then why would he go on his show? Keith acted like a child throwing a temper tantrum.. I'm glad Hannity allowed everyone to see what a fool Keith is.

What a dipwad that Ellison is. How embarrassing.  I'd be mortified if I were Obama having THIS guy defend me in THIS obnoxious fashion.   If you are on someone else's playground, you play by the rules.    He didn't even greet Hannity when greeted politely by him.

Yes, he should have been escorted off.   He wouldn't even shut up long enough after a long rant to let Hannity ask a question as Hannity's guest on his TALK show, where the known practice is that guests and host engage in respectful, though sometimes heated debate.

Pitiful excuse for a congressman.   Should never have been voted in.   Another poster's evaluation of Ellison as a crazed lunatic is right on point.

He's an embarrassment to every American who voted for him.

Yes.  THIS is what is representing Democrats in Congress today.

People should be frightened.
