911 for a cheeseburger: Man calls 911 nine times for cheeseburgers, got arrested

Despite not having success in the first few calls, Jackson kept calling them back. Eventually the police were sent to his house and placed Jackson under arrest. Additionally, despite all his hard effort to order cheeseburgers over the phone, the police did not arrive on scene with any of them.

It might seem like common knowledge that the 911 emergency line isn't supposed to be used for ordering fast food, but that fact apparently missed Jackson. The police in the area might have had a good sense of humor about the incident as well, because they haven't charged him with anything in regard to the calls. The reason Jackson got arrested was that he had an outstanding warrant in the system.

This should definitely serve as an example of why it is bad to call 911 for a cheeseburger. Even though it might sound like a humorous event, he could have tied up valuable resources should a real emergency have taken place at the same time.

Maybe "cheeseburger" is code for "come get me".

In which case, he got what he wanted.

In my county right now our coast guard just called off a three day search for a boat that made a mayday call.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars in cost, and it is looking like it was a prank; no sign of boat, people, and no registry for a the name of the boat the caller identified.

Yes, people do stupid and costly things. :(

Is that boat that claimed it was a family of 4 going down?

Too bad it took the 911 operator NINE calls from that jerkoff before they sent someone over to arrest his butt.  Sheesh - some lady here in Texas called 911 ONCE to ask police to bring her cigarettes because she was too drunk to drive and she got busted - and charged with abusing the 911 system.  What state was this in?
