If there was just some chance that you weren't being serious.

Quoting delilahsmom1177:

HOw about...it's a healthy baby... and not shove gender down their throats,

Quoting TranquilMind:

 Lol.

Birth today:

Midwife..."Oh, you have a beautiful little girl!"

Mom and Dad...."Awww.!"

Birth in the near future:

Midwife:

"Oh...you've given birth to a beautiful little.....um, baby.   It LOOKS like a girl, but we don't really know, because modern "wisdom" dictates that kids themselves are in the best position to decide what gender they want to be sometime in the future....so....I hope you enjoy raising it.  And let me know in a few years what it is, k???? "

Quoting delilahsmom1177:

Sorry I do not agree.

Quoting TranquilMind:

 Penis= boy

Doctor/midwife calls it when the baby comes out.

Quoting delilahsmom1177:

No SHe is a GIRL born in the wrong body who has...AWESOME parents.

Quoting TranquilMind:

Already been done here about that boy whose ridiculous parents raised him to believe that he could be a girl if he clicked his heels together three times and really believed...

Agreed. I have 3 daughters. I would never be okay with them being forced to share a bathroom with someone who is, for all intent and medically physical purposes male. It's not about accepting his gender identity, it's about protecting my daughters and their rights. If they have single bathrooms these children can use, fine. If not, I'm sorry. It's not, and will never be okay. The same would be true for a girl who identifies as a boy.

Quoting QueenMinah:

I am am all for the rights of the LGBT community. However, in this situation I am totally against allowing a biological boy to use the girls restroom. The parents decision to raise the child as a girl should not impact other students. The fact is, this child is a boy until he is medically changed to a girl.. I do not want a BOY in the bathroom with my daughter. Period. What if he decides to show someone his 'goods'? Kids do the strangest things..One families personal decision should not impact the entire school..

That's  exactly what I was thinking when I read that!

Quoting meriana:

Quoting MeAndTommyLee:

I've read a few articles that actually suggested `stopping' puberty for their gender assigned at birth and then giving hormones to jump-start the puberty corresponding to their gender of `choice'.  What??  I find this disturbing.  Denying natural puberty?  Bad idea.  What if when puberty hits, these kids `feel' like what they were born as in the first place.   If it's preempted how will they ever truly know?

Quoting meriana:

So we now have boys who think their girls and vice versa. Just before puberty, they must tak hormones, testosterone or whatever to force their bodies to go through puberty as the one they want to be.  (not at all sure that's a great idea)

Anyone else wonder if all the hormones, etc. they give feed animals and the junk they put in/on our food may be causing some of this?

YIKES, why would anyone think that's a good idea. And here I thought the idea of "you can be whatever you want to be" referred to the type of occupation one might pursue upon reaching adulthood.

It's actually a scary thought. With all the stuff about being or becoming gender neutral, it's maybe a possiblity that in the future hosptials would adminster something of that nature just as they now often do with...what is it...hepB or something.

love the way you laid that out......lol.    this is getting unbelievable imo.  so penis dosent mean boy, but neither does vagina.  vagina dosent mean girl, but neither does a penis.  wait!  i think ive got it!!!!   we must have been taken over by aliens that are self replicating and dont have a need for separate sexes.  yeah, thats it.  im sticking with that.  hey, its no more crazy than what is being said already.......smh

when i saw them say that on the news i was stunned.  18 months??  how the hell did they ASSUME anything about him at 18 months?  i think mom wanted a girl and was stymied when she had 3 boys instead.  so she made a girl.

Quoting Talliana:

dumb ass parents was the only thing that I got from this story. There is no way that an 18 month old can start to show opposite gender traits. Children that young have no concept of male or female. What is going to happen when this "boy" reaches puberty and his hormones kick in and OH Oh all of a sudden starts liking girls. Anyone with a penis needs to be in the boys bathroom/locker room and kids with vaginas need to be in the girls bathroom/locker room. I understand that there are kids born with switched internal organs but this kid has a penis on the outside so I would consider him a boy and never a girl. I feel the parents need some serious help since they obviously don't know how to raise a child properly.

i think at that age they need to tell her its ok to feel that way, but she is physically a boy. At age 7 it should not matter to much anyway, get him gender neutral clothing and go on with life. If this where my son, that's what i would do, i will love him no matter what, but i will not allow him to dress overly girly because he wants to be a girl.

I can go and dress like a guy but it doesn't change the fact. I still have a vagina and I belong in the woman's bathroom. He might dress like a girl, act like a girl but he still has a penis like a boy. He belongs in the boys bathroom.

I have a vagina but I use the men's restroom. That is because I am male. And can you really say you would be ok with this person  coming into the women's restroom but not this person ?
