There were two proposals put up that day. One was the democratic compromise and one the republican compromise. They were both shot down. And both with votes from their own parties in addition to everyone from the opposing party. Might want to at least put up all facts.

I'll wait for you to explain how it's because their mother didn't hold them enough.

Why haven't we fired all these people yet? What will it take for 315 million people to tell 535 people to fuck off?

Well one probably got shot down because ya know things like tax subsidies for big oil; closing loopholes and anything that takes anything away from the ultra-super wealthy or the corporations is just wrong.....on the other side, it's wrong to cut things like SS, medicare, food stamps and other things from the bottom. So there it is, some want to make drastic cuts from the bottom leaving the top intact and others want to cut some of the fat from the top without taking away from the bottom that which many actually need. Apparently it's gotten to the point of either one favors the top or one favors the bottom and there's no middle ground which basically just says the top has far more people going to bat for them (lobbyists) since they have the funds to pay them.

The measures may have been worse than the sequester. In all actuality there comes a time that based on the books kept that the ship is sinking at the moment and people are the sacrifice. No matter if they do either of the proposals or the sequester people will still be the sacrifice.

I for one didn't even hear of that term 'Sequester' as far as Gov.  From what I hear so far, Obama was suppose to sign it by midnight Mar. 1.  The cuts were far I guess, but not sure in some areas.  Like, I'm ok with the cutting the Head Start Programs/State Preschools.  I feel parents can be responsible for teaching their pre-schoolers.  I don't believe in cutting back on Teachers.  I believe (not sure) another one was in regards to Section 8 & housing.  Another one was "Meals on Wheels" programs.

I don't get why they cut that, I mean Seniors are very vulnerable & have a lot of health issues.  Why would the Gov. take that away???  This Country has the largest Food Stamp Program ever.  Which I would personally like to see that cut back.  But, the Gov. doesn't touch that, yet there's going to be cuts on the Meals on Wheels programs for Seniors?

Oh yea and to let the spending cuts already established go into effect while making the country focus on something else.
