Yep! It's insane! People down here freak out at the first sign of snow!

Yes.  I am genetically programmed to go and buy all the soup and milk up if there is even a rumor of snow.

lol, that's how it is here when there's any snow. I actually live in a very snowy state, but the city I'm in rarely snows. They cancel school if a quarter of an inch falls.

Similar thing...growing up in Flrida, was accustomed to inches and inches of rain and afternoon thunderstorms, mornings that would start with frost and be in the 80's by afternoon, tornado watches, sinkholes, waterspouts, plagues of insects, hurricanes...Now I live in the SF Bay Area and if there is a crackle of lightening all the weather stations are broadcasting things like "Stormwatch 2012!", a waterspout is a warning from the gods, a mosquito bite is cause for West Nile virus pandemonium, and more than 3 days of rain is a sure sign that the armegeddon of natural disasters prophesied to accompany our current global warming trend are imminent and about to wipe out civilization.

I live in Chicago.

Snow is a fact of winter. Blizzards tend to happen once every 10 years and that's always fun. The blizzard of 1999 was really cool. I had to dig out my garbage cans.

a week or so back it was snowing in sc and people were actually pulling over on the interstate.......not heavy snow, just barely flurries you had to look hard to see it was actually snow.  True to form I did go to the store but they were already out of milk...
