War on Women! Rape Survivor Dissed by CO Politicians

War on Women! Rape survivor dissed by CO politicians
Now that the election is over, the left doesn’t seem so concerned about that "war on women". And for people who are supposedly all about protecting women, the left sure has a bizarre way of showing it. Once again, a Democrat politician has trivialized a rape survivor’s horrible experience and point-of-view, while arrogantly explaining why she doesn’t need a gun. See the shocking video and Glenn’s reaction.

Those suggestions have been on police tip sheets for at least 30 years of campus dormitory police stations...They are not politicized. Just someone with a meme ap decides to pull this one out of his ass and make an Internet picture that has you guys all atwitter.

That pissing suggestion isn't supported by a political party...

But THIS one is is...and yes, he is one of the many faces of the GOP, official endorser of Romney, and invitee to the inauguration. I am sure you are proud.:

That some one would be the U of CO at Colorado Springs.  It was on a tip sheet, either in their handbook or a handout, I'm not sure which.  It also included suggestions like vomit on your attacker or tell him you have your period or a disease, or take your shoes off and run.  They pulled it after it went viral and they were made to look like the fools  they are.

Oh, and by he way, he doesn't represent the Republican party.

Quoting NWP:

I know! Since when did this obscure suggestion get a political qualification? Because of some silly meme that someone pulled out of their ass?

If pissing yourself represents any political party it is the GOP thanks to this guy. Look, it even comes with its very own meme!

Quoting Debmomto2girls:

Enough with the pissing on yourself.. You take one meme and apply it to all democrats. And what about Mace or pepper spray. I used it in college 2x and it worked great! Spray and run

Quoting grandmab125:

Well, I doubt that colleges have a place for you to check your gun at the door to the class room.  If my girls were in college today, I would see that they were licensed and trained to use a gun, and hopefully in a college that allowed conceal and carry.  Because women can't carry on most campuses, they are even more vulnerable to rape today than ever before.  Sorry, but call boxes, whistles and pissing on yourself just don't cut it.

It has everything to do with rape, and a woman's right to carry and protect herself.  Did you bother to watch the video?  Sad and pathetic that a female senator (D) would denigrate a rape survivor.  I wonder if she was ever raped.

The point is also that it's the Dems who are waging a war on women, not the Republicans.  One more CO Dem denying women the right to protect themselves.  This one thinks women don't know for sure if they're going to be raped:

DENVER (AP/CBS4) - Colorado Republicans say Democrats should denounce comments from a state lawmaker who said women may not know if they feel like they're in danger of being raped.

Republicans urged state Democratic leaders Tuesday to condemn the remarks that Rep. Joe Salazar made Friday during debate on a bill to ban concealed firearms on colleges. Salazar was arguing that guns don't make campuses safer, and that there are other security measures in place that could prevent unnecessary shootings.

"It's why we have call boxes, it's why we have safe zones, it's why we have the whistles. Because you just don't know who you're going to be shooting at," the Democrat from Thornton said.

He added, "And you don't know if you feel like you're going to be raped, or if you feel like someone's been following you around or if you feel like you're in trouble when you may actually not be, that you pop out that gun and you pop ... pop a round at somebody."

"He didn't think we didn't have the ability to discern an inherent danger; that we base everything on emotions and not rational thought," Rep. Polly Lawrence, R-Littleton, told CBS4 Political Specialist Shaun Boyd.

Salazar apologized for the remarks after he made them Friday, but his comments got fresh traction when conservative blogs picked them up Monday.

He issued another apology Monday, saying, "I'm sorry that I offended anyone."

Republicans said Tuesday that Salazar's apology is not enough.

"Questioning a woman's judgment over whether or not she is about to be raped is insensitive and insulting to women everywhere," Lawrence said. "No matter what sort of policy position you're trying to advance, questioning the rational ability of women to perceive threats around them is something Democrat leaders should condemn."

Quoting UpSheRises:

Likewise, this post doesnt have anything to do with rape.

Just another case of the gunsies.

Quoting grandmab125:

 1.  This post has nothing to do with automatic weapons.

2.  Think about it....if she were allowed to carry a concealed weapon, say in the back of her jeans, or strapped in a holster under her jacket, she would have stood a chance of shooting the bastard.  Since her parents saw to it that she was trained in martial arts, it would follow that she also is trained in using guns.

Quoting PinkButterfly66:

So if he already had a gun, hers wouldn't have done her a whole lot of good, now would it?  How about the right of all those innocent slaughtered by semi-automatic weapons?  They'd still be alive if those weapons were banned and YOU would still have a shit load of other types of guns to hoard against the zombies.

Quoting grandmab125:

Did you watch the video?  She pointed out to that obnoxious dem senator that the guy already had his own weapon, he didn't need hers.  We all have a constitutional right to bear arms.  Part of that right is the right to protect yourself, when your life is in danger.

Quoting Debmomto2girls:

She had a better chance of the gun being turned and used on her. I am democrat but am very ambivalent on the gun issue. I don't know how I feel about letting students carry guns into the classroom. My first instinct is it doesn't sound like a good idea. I know I am definitely opposed to guns being banned altogether and I believe if someone wants to kill they will find a gun. But, guns in the classroom? I'm not sure

Bullshit.  The Republican party supports the 2nd Amendment.  Ted Nugent just gets lots of publicity because he's loud and a big supporter of the NRA.

But, you can think whatever you want.  I couldn't care less.

Bullshit what? Let's explore the bullshit, shall we?

You are talking about emptying your bodily fluids for a purpose that is linked to a political party...Your link is false. The suggestion sheet you discussed includes a LOT of things and has been a standard talking point on college campuses for DECADES and has no political affiliation. It could probably use some updating, but hey, a woman KILLED her rapist recently by squeezing his balls, also one of the suggestions on this sheet.

What DOES have a political affiliation that empties it's bodily fluids for a purpose and has an official political affiliation, whether you approve or not. He is one face of the GOP that many in the party support and even call a patriot.

Ted certainly is one face of the GOP that a LOT of folks endorse and support. Even here on CM. They think he is great. I'm glad you don't. There may be hope for you yet! LOL

But I am calling BS on linking the peeing as a rape preventative to being a democratic party suggestion. That is an ignorant statement taken from an internet meme, always a good reliable source of info (insert sarcasm font here).

Like I said, that looong list of suggestions has been passed out by campus police for decades.
