It was called the Home Insurance Building. It was 10 stories tall, which was very impressive at the time.

In 1945, a farmer cut the head off a chicken with the intention of killing it and cooking it for dinner. However, after the beheading the chicken was still alive and the farmer had a change of heart. His family fed it with an eyedropper and kept it alive for 18 months. It finally died when it choked on a piece of corn

Because of a loophole in California vehicle laws that allows you a maximum of six months after the issuing of a plate number to put a license plate on a new car, Steve Jobs was able to drive a silver Mercedes all the time with no plates. He would just upgrade his car every six months to a newer model.

The baby's name was Ernest. He was a one month old orphan boy who was the property of the Washington Children's Home and Society.
