So the world didn't end after all...

Posted by   + Show Post

I was just looking through some old posts...remember all the outrage about the ICC in New York?  The one in Tennessee?  Temecula, CA?  Sheboygan, WI?

All these were built and opened quietly after all that controversy.  Now that it is over, do the people who were so outraged by it feel as though they were played?  Like they were led to their outrage, and the flames were fanned by people with an agenda, and now that it's over it's like it never happened.

Do you feel like people were played with these fake "controversies?"  Of course it isn't controversial to build a place of worship on land you own, with the proper zoning.  Do those of you who were against it feel differently now?

:)  I'm sure they are very well used.

Ah. Thank you. I forgot all about that. I never had a problem with them.

I hope they are all thriving and are beneficial to their communities.

I know it wasn't you!  :)

Wasnt me man...

I doubt many will admit they could have possibly been , you know, wrong,

Quoting stacymomof2:

I was just wondering if any of them will admit it.  A good portion of the people that were very against it are in this group.

Quoting LucyMom08:

Some people are scared by things they don't understand and would prefer to remain ignorant.

And I highly doubt that type of person would admit that they were wrong...

Sometimes I feel like there is a new outrage that lost of people jump on, and then suddenly it disappears and no one ever mentions it again...something that people were really really over the top about just drops out of style, never to be heard again.

Quoting Healthystart30:

I seriously doubt that those people are going to come in here and admit they were wrong. Most of them are probably being hateful in some other posts.

I think people truely felt the one in New York was being insensitive to the tragedy that happened there by their location. I don't think it was "fake".

I must have missed that drama. Islamophobes are annoying.

I will be talking to my Mom and I will hear her mention something that is already on here and I always ask if she's been watching Fox News again. There are also stories on the left side too which will be the story to be upset about.

Oh I remember the argument.  However that only makes sense if the people who committed the murders at the world trade center were the ones who were building the mosque.

I think they were manipulated for the 2010 elections, and I think they fell for it.

It was quite the drama.  Then, after the elections, the story was gone...*poof* and all these mosques opened up quietly, like a year later.

I think when the media outlets stopped pushing the issue, people forgot about it.

I think they were a bunch of rubes, who jumped right on board Beck's crazy train.
