Years ago conservatives/bankers were telling the CEO of costco he needs to lower hiw wages, and give less benefits otherwise his business model will fail.

Costco's success does indeed prove those people wrong.

The good, Costco does indeed care about their employees (and members) for a retail outlet (I know it's a warehouse) they have the lowest turnover rate of all the largest retailers. They also have one of the lowest employees' thief rate and inventory loss in the business.

The Bad, shareholders and vendors get played hardball, Shareholders are behind in dividends payouts (usually behind employees paid bonuses) and venders will get downplayed quite a bit (Walmart is still the best or worst depending on your point of view)

The Ulgy, Costco downright extortion of local communities for stores opening in their areas, is legendary ... From sales taxes rebates, energy rebates, zoning issues, legal funding is second to none.

In many ways, Costco is a mixed bag in social terms.

I run several and have. Not every business can afford to pay high wages. Perhaps you should take one.
