Ohio school sends kindergartner home over mohawk haircut Published April 07, 2013 FoxNews.com An Ohio kindergartner was forced to stay home from class after a school district said he couldn’t attend – because of his mohawk haircut. Officials from the Clark Shawnee School District in Springfield, Ohio, sent 5-year-old Ethan Clos home on Wednesday, saying his haircut was a disturbance to teachers and students in the classroom, WHIO TV 7 reports. Superintendent Gregg Morris said the mohawk haircut violated district rules on dress and grooming that is disruptive to the education process. Clos’ mom, Keshia Castle, told WHIO TV 7 that her son got the haircut because he thought it was “cool,” adding that other students were interested in it after his class returned from spring break. Clos will return to school Monday with a shaved head. Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/04/07/ohio-school-sends-kindergartner-home-over-mohawk-haircut/?test=latestnews#ixzz2PsUPA1EF

While I greatly disagree with their dress code (I just looked it up), it does explicitly state that mohawks are not allowed. The mom should have read what she signed.

Hate it when parents buck the rules and then bitch when their kids have to suffer the consequences.

A rule is a rule. Save the mohawk for the summer time.

A lot of schools have dress codes that include hairstyles and colors. It's just a matter of taste but I don't care to see little boys with mohawks or designs in their hair.

I think the rule is silly, but it's still a rule.

It's a really stupid rule, but a rule nonetheless.
