Why, yes........yes we do.
Quoting Bieg9093:Thanks folks. My family wasn't sure if it was a NY thing or not. Although, i now feel the need to visit the deli tomorrow and ask if they actually use 6 single foot loaves. I'm gonna feel really dumb if I've believed in an imaginary 6 foot loaf all these years. I'll let you know what I find out.
Oh wait...........you mean one, continuous, loaf of bread that reaches 6 feet?
Actually, I'm revising my answer. All the sub shops here do sell what they call 6 foot subs (all that I know of, anyway); there's only one place that has a continuous loaf, and it's a local restaurant that's also a bakery.
(And it's funny how the name is regional. Down here, they're subs, always. :D )
I've seen them on menus, but I've never seen one live.
Well. Not heroes.
Be careful with that.
Based on independent research performed on a national chain, "foot longs" were actually only 11 inches.
Your six-foot hero may in fact only be 66 inches.
Quoting Bieg9093:I just double- checked at deli. Yes, a 6 foot hero is made on 6 foot bread.
