Islamic radical threatens Catholic high school

Robby Soave
Reporter, The Daily Caller News Foundation

Police are investigating an anonymous forum poster who praised Boston bombing suspects Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and later made a threat against a Catholic high school in Fairfax, Virginia.

The online poster goes by the handle “Prophet Muhammad” and has made several disturbing statements on the Fairfax Underground website in the last month. On Friday, he posted a threat against Paul VI Catholic High School:

“Inshallah, Paul VI High School will be the scene of another massacre. Allahu akbar!”

“Inshallah” is an Arabic phrase that means “God willing.” “Allahu akbar” means “God is the greatest.” Both sayings are commonly associated with the Islamic faith.

The Diocese of Arlington, which oversees the high school, took the threat seriously. Police searched school grounds over the weekend using bomb-sniffing dogs, according to a spokesperson for the diocese.

“No threat was discovered,” said Michael J. Donohue, director of communications for the diocese, in an interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation.

The online poster had already caught the attention of police by writing threatening statements concerning law enforcement officers. Police are trying to track the origins of the comments.

“In the meantime, the police have increased their presence and will continue to do so until this is resolved,” wrote Virginia Colwell, the school’s principal, in a statement to parents, students, and teachers.

The threatening messages were especially disturbing given the recent terrorist bombing in Boston. The suspects, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, are believed to have been influenced by their radical Islamic views. The posts of Fairfax Underground user “Prophet Muhammad” explicitly endorse the Tsarnaev brothers and their actions.

“That post is obviously very threatening and disturbing, but it is also provocative in light of the attack in Boston,” said Donohue.

What examples do you have of the Catholic church terrorizing?  Did we bomb someone and I didn't hear about it?  Threaten anyone's lives?

Or have our priests and bishops only proclaimed in words what we believe to be right? If you call that 'terrorizing' then you do no justice to the true meaning of the word.

Wait isn't this the same Catholic school people had no problem condemning for a girl being suspended regarding a topless picture?

I recall people where out raged several months ago when bacon was found on a field Muslims were going to use.  People without question regarded the bacon as a deliberate attack against Muslims....the bacon turned out to be trash animals had got to.

Yes, it is the same school.  My alma mater, in fact.  But the outrage is that the boys who posted the picture were not punished the way the girl who posed for it did, if memory serves.   I need to look more into this story because it IS my alma mater and because I drive by the school every day, not to mention have friends who work their and whose kids go there.

It is a bit concerning how easily some here have consistantly blown off ANY Islamic threat, whatsoever, to any American at any time anywhere.  We are apparently supposed to ignore that the monster currenly lying in hospital bed with several gunshots, including one to the throat, after BOMBING an American city, FLAT OUT SAID he and his brother did it for Islam.  Not two boys who happen to be Islamic bombed an American city for political reasons, but two boys who bombed an American city IN THE NAME of Islam.  For Bob's sake people, STOP f'ing acting like it is a crime to point that out.

No, that does not mean ISLAM bombed Boston, OP.  But it also DOES NOT MEAN that Islamically motivated terrorism is some myth, as many here want to pretend, and that threats should be laughed off because people don't want to accept that there ARE Islamic radicals in this country, just as their are Christian radicals in this country.

Sorry, but raping little boys and allowing it to happen/covering it up, is fairly terroristic, IMO.  Islam no more bombed Boston than Catholicism raped alter boys.
