I guess there is something that I don't understand. What is the point of having them take an oath, if nothing happens when they are caught in a lie? Isn't that why we have the word perjury? How come she was not just put in jail as soon as she was caught lying? I don't get it..... just keep spending tons of money on this stupid trial instead of putting her a** in jail for being a liar and a murderer.

Same reason people who commit adultery (illegal) dont go to jail .... Sometimes people don't prosecute or do anything

But shouldn't the judge immediately say "you've purged yourself - end of trial, go to jail." Otherwise what's the point of taking an oath?!
