The system is taxed severely with children who have parents who have shown , sometimes over and over, that they are unfit.  I submit these people should be kept from having more children to neglect/abuse.

Thoughts?

How far you go in life depends on your being: tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of both the weak and strong.  Because someday in life you would have been one or all of these.  GeorgeWashingtonCarver

No, it is a basic protection our Constitution provides us.  We are to be protected from undue governmental interference in our lives

We have no problem interfering in the lives of criminals, even up to taking their lives.  Is not neglect/abuse of a child a horrific criminal act?

The constitutional rights of criminals are stripped all the time.

Most child abuse cases are adjudicated in juvenile court and there are no criminal repercussions.

Of course, but control over our reproductive systems is pretty basic.  What next mandatory sterilzation for alcoholics and mentally disabled?  How about those with strong predisposition to passing along birth defects? They all cost our system untolled amounts of money.

We are founded on a strong foundation of personal liberty.  The state governing your ovaries or even killing someone is inherently evil

I would think these parents would want to be sterilized.  Obviously they have too many children and are overwhelmed.

Yes, it is horrific and something drastic needs to be done.

If you let the government go this far, you have completely lost yourself to it.

A person has the rights over their own bodies. If the government can take away one persons right over their body, what is going to stop them from deciding to take control over my body?

I wonder if anyone is pro-life and pro-sterilization? That would some crazy hypocrisy.
