She's 6 hours in.  I admire her bravery and wish her (and the women of TX) luck.

You can watch her live (the audio isn't great):

In that bill it's also banning abortions after 20 weeks.

This is quite fascinating.  I've read about filibustering but never actually watched it.  She's being interrupted a lot but I'm sure that's to be expected.

Other dems are trying to give her a break by asking her questions.

She's got 5 hours, 15 min left to go.

They can't.

Some members are protesting whether or not her speech is germane, and she's beginning to get warnings.  They are trying to shut her down.  Others are defending her, asking that portions of the bill are read slowly, or asking questions, but are being told if they speak too much, it's either not germane, or she'll have to cede the floor.

They are trying to shut her down so they can vote it in.  It's kind of scary, how many legislators are that desperate to limit women's health care rights.

I dunno, I'd be pretty ashamed right now.  They keep saying the bill is to protect women's health, but that's bullshit any idiot can see through.  The goal is to severely hamper a woman's constitutional right to terminate her pregnancy within current guidelines & laws.

The Texas Medical Association, the Texas Hospital Association, and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists wrote letters urging lawmakers to vote against the bill, saying it would not raise the standard of care.
