Cannabinoids Found To Reduce 90% Of Skin Cancer In Just 20 Weeks

Posted by   + Show Post

new study conducted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Public Health, and published in the newest issue of the Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, has found that cannabinoids can reduce up to 90% of skin cancer in just a 20 week period.

For the study, researchers used synthetic cannabinoids (natural, cannabis-derived cannabinoids are typically even more effective) on mice with skin cancer in a 20 week study, and found that the cannabinoids had a hugely positive effect, reducing skin cancer by up to 90% as well as “inhibiting tumor promotion”.

Researchers conclude:

This is the first report indicating the structure-activity relationships for the anti-inflammatory activity of synthetic cannabinoids on TPA-induced inflammation in mice. Naphthoylindoles, JWH-018, -122 and -210 [synthetic cannabinoids], had the most potent anti-inflammatory activity and also markedly inhibited tumour promotion by TPA in the two-stage mouse skin carcinogenesis model. The present results suggest that synthetic cannabinoids, such as JWH-018, -122 and -210, may be used as cancer chemopreventive agents in the future.

Just curious, is that a rhetorical question ?

Quoting EireLass:

Can you tell me the difference?

Medical marijuana is acceptable, with a Doctor's prescription. I don't know why you are so desperate to prove that pot is so great......

Quoting NWP:

I don't know so many stoners. Did they die of skin cancers?
Quoting lancet98:

Light me up a fattie, let's celebrate.LOL.NOT.How come I know so many stoners who have died of cancer?I SERIOUSLY doubt not smoking enough pot is the cause.   They were severely pushing the envelope.

Feel free to ignore my posts instead of dropping by and bitching about them. I promise, my feelings won't be hurt. If you had a cause that you felt strongly enough about, then you might be moved to post updates about it too. I fight for the people who have suffered under these stupid prohibition laws.

If medical marijuana was justified, wouldn't it be legal on the federal level....just like prescription meds?

It isn't the same product.

Do you think it's bad for people to have a glass of wine in the evening?

Quoting lga1965:

The only difference is that medical marijuana is justified. It helps cancer patients deal with side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, for example.Or for people with MS,too, It is the same product except that some is used for actual  medical benefits and prescribed.

I have read that some people here at CM have such emotional problems , anxiety, etc. that they use marijuana. That is self-medicating, the same method used by people who drink a lot to relieve anxiety. I prefer diet and exercise and plenty of sleep to relax and avoid anxiety.

So....that's how I feel about pot and booze, etc. They are remedies for those who  self-medicate

I was being snarky because you asked Iggy Biotch if she knew the difference.   Personally I think it should be legal for both medical and recreational users.

I know what I know, and I know what I believe, but I also know I don't know everything, so I'm always asking people what they know. Never too old to learn. :o)

I'm a med patient. Prior to...I was on 6 (prescription) meds every day. Now I am on 1. There is a difference between 'med' grade and 'street' MJ. I vapor multiple times/day, and smoke once at night. 2 different strains. I don't get high. I don't drink as I don't enjoy the 'altered' feeling. I don't smoke street MJ for the same reason. I buy from the dispensary, but my husband is also my legal caregiver (grower). He is still in 'learning' phase on when to pick to get the highest CBD count. Last crop he picked too late....so I'm not smoking it.
