Most women likely recall that famous scene inPretty Woman when Julia Roberts was asked to leave the store in Beverly Hills (Big Mistake. Huge!), and one 14-year-old Eugene, Oregon, girl has a similar tale (sadly, this one’s minus the happy Richard Gere ending).
Shelby Buster was shopping at Rue 21 clothing store (nice name ripoff, btw) on her birthday and, according to Eugene’s ABC affiliate, KEZI, this was the girl’s first time shopping without her mother. She was likely over the moon about this until one of their employees hurled an insult of epic proportions at her.
“I walked in and the lady at the front counter said hey you’re too big to be in this store, I need you to leave,” said Shelby.
We’ll give you a second to gasp, as we know we did.
The girl's friend was already in the back of the store, shopping for perfume.
“And so she checked out and walked back and my mom came back to talk to them and they’re like oh we’re so sorry,” the teenager explained.
KEZI is reporting that the store’s district manager is launching an investigation that will involve the video footage from Saturday being pulled and reviewed.
