Opps. Wasn't this what the Tea Party has been saying all of this time.

State-level unions demand ObamaCare fix, as Obama meets labor leaders

Sept. 9, 2013: Richard Trumka, American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations president, addresses members during the quadrennial AFL-CIO convention at Los Angeles Convention Center.AP

President Obama plans to meet face-to-face with labor leaders Friday to try and quell their opposition to Obamacare, as Republicans warn that the administration might offer a sweetheart deal to give their workers extra health care subsidies.

But while labor leaders hear out the White House, state-level union bosses are on their way back from the national conference of the AFL-CIO, and they've got a message for state lawmakers and Congress:

"We want changes to Obamacare."

At this week's national conference of the AFL-CIO, an umbrella group for dozens of labor unions, union leaders approved a resolution formally calling for changes to the Affordable Care Act. The AFL-CIO said it's concerned about the affordability and accessibility of health insurance under Obamacare, and also worries that workers' hours may be cut back as an unintended consequence of the law.

In short, the AFL-CIO shares many of the same concerns opponents of the health care law have been raising for a long time.

But the AFL-CIO is not a group of tea party Republicans determined to defund the law. The group was among the biggest advocates for the ACA when it passed Congress in March 2010.

Things haven't gone according to plan since then.

"I haven't heard from anyone who thinks this is moving smoothly," said Jon Hendry, president of the New Mexico Federation of Labor/AFL-CIO. "We support the ACA but it has to be fixed."

The affordable care act was written with insurance companies in mind. Not the interests of the American people. That much is known and has been known beyond the tea party and their false outrage over just about everything.

The hours being cut is already happening in my state. No one is hiring full time, they hire "permanent part time" now....meaning, you won't get enough hours to qualify for healthcare.  Many are also using a lot of temp. employees because they don't have to offer healthcare.

How the hell is that funny? Because he's been acting in the interests of big businesses that have a long history of union busting or not allowing unions? If that's what you meant then yeah, it's a tad funny. But I don't think that's what you mean.

Obama has been acting like a moderate republican this whole time. I'm surprised he's giving the unions the time of day.

HHHeeeellloooooo!!!!! Have you not seen who Obama catered to during his first term?  Who do you think had an unlimited visitor's pass at the Oval office?????  The Unions own Obama and this is common knowledge.

It is happening here in my state as well. When I got hired for my second job, I was told straight up that if I have proof of health insurance then I could work as many hours as I wanted. Most people can't afford the insurance right now. My friend and her husband have already decided $400 penalty than the $1200. Sounds like the government is going to make a lot of money this year...the things that make one go "Hmmm."

HA! Not common to me. Not at all. All I see is catering to big businesses and bailing them out and not prosecuting the assholes who manufactured the crash in 2008. Unions are on the way out and Obama has been no help in that area.

All the hours you want if you already have health insurance...*facepalm*

We need a single payer option. My God this shit is going to cripple us as long as insurance is tied to employment. God damn this is not working.
