If your house burned down and you could only save one thing, what would it be?

*edit to add, all living things, prescriptions, hair products, and toothbrushes are already miraculously out and safe (wink-wink)

The clarinets.  Even on wheels, I doubt I could get the piano out of the door and down the steps.

My house was struck by lightening many years ago and did burn down.  Don't stop to get any stuff.  If it's not on a pathway to the door, leave it.  You can always get more stuff.

Some important papers that I could never get back, all our pics are digital now as of last month so I won't have to worry about that.

I didn't say photos because I knew that would be what my husband chose :). Although this makes me want to start scanning in pics tomorrow.

Photos.  When my home burned, a lot of those were lost.  I treasure the ones that I still have.

A black teddy bear my dad gave me.  It's the only thing my father has given me and my DD plays with it, too.

I'd like to say something like my DDs baby book, or her baby blanket.. but in the end, I would probably grab my purse if I could and get out. No heroic saving of photos here
