Meme

Pronounced it "mee mee". I corrected her and told her the word "meam". She said she was sure it wasn't because everybody said mee mee. I told her that it was because most people are stupid.

Is it "meam" or "mee mee"?

My co-worker thinks its a new word invented to describe a picture with words on it. I tried to tell her that it isn't and she was pretty sure i was wrong.

It's meem. Before it meant "sarcastically captioned picture of cat" it had another definition, something to do with science I think. I'll look it up now.

I wrote quite the paper during my first year of college in a biology class. I thought the entire idea of a meme (the concept that they're analogous to genes) ludicrous and I hated it, for some reason. I got an A, I'm not even sure what my argument was...

I must have had forebodings of bread cat...grrr.

That is what i tried to tell her...it's means something is pop-culturish...that it's really catching on. It wasn't invented to describe pictures on the internet.
