I went to CNN and MSNBC and all the other news channels and no one is talking about it. I did get a breaking news email from CNN and it said two dead and two kids injured but that's it.......the shooter has been "neutralized"

It was in a not so good part of town. That may be why the national media isn't picking up on it.

Two people are dead and two boys are in critical condition after a shooting Monday at a middle school in Nevada, authorities say.

Angela Rambo, a spokeswoman for the Renown Regional Medical Center, said both patients injured in the shooting at Sparks Middle School in Sparks, Nev., were males.

Washoe County School District Police didn't immediately offer details of the identities of the dead. They said the suspect is "down," but offered no further details.

A Sparks police dispatcher said reports of the shooting started coming in at 7:16 a.m. Monday. The shooting happened on the school's campus, but outside the school building itself, according to police. The area is now secure.

“I can tell them to rest assured. The schools are safe. The rest of the city is safe," Reno deputy chief Tom Robinson said, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval said in a statement that he was "deeply saddened to learn of the horrific shooting."

“My administration is receiving regular updates and the Nevada Highway Patrol is assisting at the scene," he added.

Washoe County School District spokesman Charles Rahn told the Associated Press that the middle school and the adjacent Agnes Risley Elementary School have been evacuated to Sparks High School. Rahn said the middle and elementary schools will be closed Monday.

Sparks, a city of roughly 90,000, lies just east of Reno.

I wonder if the shooter was a student, staff, or a person that walked in?

It was a student. The TV reported that they killed themselves but all the print on the internet just lists as neutralized. They primary target was a teacher. So the two deaths are the shooter and teacher.

There was a teacher killed trying to intervene, the shooter (who was middle school aged) was killed and two other students were wounded

My cousins' gf's sister is a teacher at that school. :( She's alright, thank god. But according to her, it was a student who was apparently targeting a specific group of other students. He hit two before a teacher threw himself in front of them and was shot. Then the kid either turned the gun on himself right there, or walked out of the school into the parking lot before shooting himself. This just boggles my mind! I don't understand how a kid can think that a gun can solve all of his problems (and not create new ones).
