Who should go to college

Who should decide?

Should everyone be educated or just those who wish to be?  Should all jobs require an education?

How far you go in life depends on your being: tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of both the weak and strong.  Because someday in life you would have been one or all of these.  GeorgeWashingtonCarver

The system is fine as is IMHO, but those who do not choose college shouldn't complain about being broke.  THAT should be a law.

Just those who want to go to college should invest their time and energy. All jobs shouldn't require higher ed, but I support jobs requiring skills.

The university and the person attending should decide.

Only those who wish to be

Jobs should require what the employer deems is necessary to work at the business.

Are the broke ones who went to college allowed to whine?

The person should decide. It should only be those who are ready and willing to go. There are some high paying jobs that do not require a college degree. However, low waged jobs should not require a college degree. Employers who expect a degree should pay for the benefit of it.

Interesting. Do you believe every single person can accomplish a college degree?

No.  But too many people who could have went feel entitled to the same quality of life as those who did go.

Not all jobs should require a college education, but I do believe that those who want to go to college should go.

On the flip side, I know of a local state college that was a community college, and they had issues with students spitting at/on professors, fist fights, etc. I would say, no, the people involved in that kind of behavior really want to work at McDonalds the rest of their lives.
