Those of you with the "gender" neutral issues will LOVE this. Especially from a conservative. ;) Happy Halloween!
So. I have 3 GIRLS. My youngest is my wildcard. She's a crack up. She loves Spider-Man, and pretty much any other super hero. Loves Tball and soccer. Prefers to wear shorts, they are usually pink, purple, and sparkly from Justice, but shorts. Like running shorts. She fits no mold. When she was 1 and 2 I got to choose her Halloween costume. After that? She had a definite opinion and I deferred. She has been Spider-man every single year since.
This Halloween she decided to be a gross ghoul. Lol I tried my best to talk her in to some cute outfit, but no. It wasn't happening. She was still Spider-Man for her school character parade, but chose a gruesome costume for trick or treating.
The following are pics of both.
The teachers at school think she's hilarious. I do too.
Tonight while out and about, almost every house we went to said something along the lines of "Here ya go buddy." to her thinking she was a boy. She kept saying "Momma, why do they keep calling me "buddy"?"
I said, "sweetie, they are not accustomed to a girl in a costume like that, you are too cool! " She loved it!
We came upon our school secretaries house and she saw my other two girls and said, "Oh Hi Lewis girls!! Where's Baylie?" Baylie was right in front of her. Lol I said, "That's her!"
The secretary says. " I knew you didn't have a boy and this threw me off!" Lol
Baylie pulled off her mask and said "it's me!"
Heres the thing. Even though my kid was mistaken for a boy numerous times this evening because of the way she chose to dress, even by people that know her, neither I or her were offended. She thought it was pretty cool people didn't know who she was.
Would you be offend by this? If so, why?
And HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
