22 Messages For Creationists From People Who Believe In Evolution

I asked 22 self-identifying evolutionists at the Bill Nye–Ken Ham debate to write a message/question/note to the other side. Here’s what they wrote. posted on

Ok these are just as insulting but way smarter and funnier lol - And as these were meant to be funny. True story when talking about the recent military change to allow religious head gear etc, I said in a meeting that I couldn't wait for the pastafarians to hear about this. he he he he

I love no. 10.  I think I'm going to steal it.

I have to say, though, you don't convince anyone with condescension, which is what many of these messages have.

These were smug too but I don't they expected anyone to change their minds from reading those zingers. Nobody went to this debate expecting their minds to be changed

I would of really liked it if one of them said why can't we have both.

I agree, you don't convince people with condescension.

However, I would say in this case, you can't convince them regardless.  I have had many go-rounds with creationists and young earth creationists, and the bottom line is, if it doesn't line up with what they believe Scripture says, they reject it, no matter what evidence you have of the truthfulness of your argument.  Sometimes they tell you they won't even look or hear about it.

The only thing with this debate would have been to legitimize Mr. Ham and his positions.  On that basis I think Mr. Nye made a mistake.
