Please sign my petition and pass it along! With over 121,000 infant and toddler injuries a year due to shopping carts from 2003 to 2008, that number is expected to grow. It is time we make the change for the safety of our children! https://www.change.org/petitions/1436775?just_created=true

Those numbers are not for a year.   They are for 5 years.

It's cool and all but no. I'm all for car seat safety in vehicles because driving is almost a necessity but placing a car seat on a shopping cart isn't and it's posted right there on the cart that it isn't safe. How is the car seat kept from falling off the bottom of the cart?

It also doesn't say from what type of injury.

Parents need to have some responsibility in this.   Maybe they should actually pay attention to what their kids are doing and stay off their phones.

How about parents just use a little common sense

Because we are an entitlement society and it would be easier to force these stores to spend billions on new shopping carts than to take the responsibility for our own kids and their safety.

What is your plan for a replacement?  Blow up carts?

Part of the problem is the proliferation of child safety items. Used to be parents were watchful where their little ones were concerned and made common sense decisions regarding them. These days, with all the child safety items and the constant "use this or that to protect your child" messages, it's getting to the point where  parents can't seem to see for themselves that something might not be safe. They want a "safe" option everywhere and regarding everything and then they need to be told how to use it, etc.  Kind of funny how we and our kids all survived without all this stuff.

user error more than likely accounts for a majority of those injuries.  One can't legislate the stupid out of people.
