They Are Still Coming Home In Body Bags.....

Posted by   + Show Post

One of my good friends is a USO volunteer.  She goes to the Philadelphia Airport USO and escorts the FOF (family of the fallen) to their loved one to reunite them for a final time as they bring home their dead loved ones for burial.  It is a horrible, painful, emotionally wrenching thing to do, but my friend is amazing and she helps ease the pain and transition for these folks.  She often will post about the soldiers she is helping to bring home for a final time.  She posted this yesterday:

And I think you ARE clueless.

this is a load of pig shit. If someone voted against the veterans jobs bill it was because they do not support the military period.

Quoting jcrew6:

So, when politicians vote against military vet bills because they have OTHER garbage non related to vets added in OR no accountability on HOW additional vet spending will be funded?~ we should be mad at the politicians for voting no?

I get mad that other politicians add non related spending to vet bills because they know they can demonize a politician who votes no as someone who is against the military/vets.

It's not just black and white when it comes to why a politician votes no.  I would think you would be smart enough to know this.

Quoting mikiemom:

Some are coming home in body bags and some are still coming home injured and disabled. But folks keep voting for the members of congress who voted against the veterans job bill or who voted to take money from the military disabled and retired and continue to call themselve patriots and to claim they support the military.

Quoting billsfan1104: This is so sad. We need not to forget these soldiers and it is sad that we have.

And yet despite your broad sweeping ridiculous statement, a military member would protect your life with his or her own.

After Meet the Press, they list those killed the past week. I'm thinking: WTF? Why? For what reason? This has GOT TO END NOW. So pointless.

What made the most recent jobs bill offered up for vote (2013) any different than the at least 6 jobs bills that are currently in place?

I am a military spouse, surrounded by military families, volunteering my time to help vets and families at the MFLC. We go through these bills and read how they will help.  In the case of 2013, it was duplicated already in place programs.  So, it was spending money on BUREAUCRACY and NOT the vets.  If politicians REALLY wanted to focus on the vets, that would have presented a better plan.

The jobs bill that was put on the table in 2013 was about politics, not vets.  It was redundant to many of the already existing programs out there. Programs like the VOW to hire ACT. Please, tell me, in your opinion how was the 2013 bill different than the 2011 VOW to Hire heroes Act?

I don't think it's just that politicians are cowards; politicians are about money and power. But we are at fault, too. Don't we all drive cars and want our gas prices to be reasonable? Don't we need some control in the Middle East in order to keep the cheap oil a flowing? WE are a part of this bullshit.

Some people who join the military are brainwashed. For many, it is their passport to college and a career and they don't have other options. And for many others, they are true patriots. There are MANY people, including Pat Tillman, who joined after 9/11 because they truly wanted to get the people who attacked us. Can't blame them. In fact, I admire them.

Oh boy, talk about being brainwashed. Who told you that you had to think like that. Many people join the military for very diverse reasons. Some due to tradition, some due to economic need, some due to patriotism, some wanting to get an education, the list of reasons folks joint the military is endless. I met one kid who joined the military to get his teeth fixed (Not kidding). I know of several who have joined to gain their US citizenship, did you know that many South American countries have US military recruiting stations?

there is no reason to disrespect anyone who volunteers to be a part of our military. Everyone must understand though that the military is merely a microcosim of our greater society.

LOL.  This comment, coming from you? Now, you are the comment police....

That is some funny stuff...  So, when you insult others(like you have in the past and we both know you will again)~ should we post your words verbatim? Or should we link you to this thread?  What is the best possible way we can point out your hypocrisy?
