I understand this is subjective.  Several yrs ago I would have said sex was not a need.  Today I would say it is absolutely a need, totally lol.

Do you  think its a need for some?

**EDIT**

I think masturbation is absolutely sex for the purposes of this discussion.

It's a need for me now. I was celibate for 2 1/2 years before I met my DF. I dated in that time but didn't feel the 'need' to have sex with them. That changed after dating my DF for a few months.

Isnt it odd how it changes?  Gotta love hormones lol.

Right now?

Yes.

Jokes aside, I think it can be to an extent.  An emotional need perhaps?

I think its biological.  There is swelling and discomfort involved, not just emotions.

That's true.  I was just thinking on the aspect of "need".  I mean, you can survive without it (although prob grumpy), so it's not quite a physical need.  Biology can make the drive to want it and get it worse, though, too.

It's been almost a year for me.  I'm about ready to hump someone's leg.

Lol. I'm going to try bio identical hormones and see if those help my libido.

I don't need it I survived 4yrs with out it fine and I would happily go the rest of my life without it if my damn husband would stop taking it as a personal insult to his manhood that I am not interested in sex of any kind (with him, porn, etc) While I agree for some it might be a biological or physical need for me I could personally care less...

Thats not a bad idea.

I had the unusual experience of menopause and 5 children under 5 in the house daily.  The youngest is now 5 and I dont have them all everyday anymore.  Infant/toddler exhaustion can kill the libido lol.
