Interesting story here, not sure what to make of the allegations as of yet; but the comments remind me of a few of our past Cafemoms who also believed, and were proud to share that belief, "integration was not a good thing for African Americans!" Of course it wasn't talked about it public groups, but perhaps we can do that here?

Have you ever known anyone who holds this view?

I do not. I don't know anyone who would agree with what many of those comments said, but looking at where the article came from leads me to believe their readership doesn't reflect the common perception.

I will not have a temper tantrum nor stomp across the floor.

I will not pout, scream or shout or kick against the door.

I will not throw my food around nor pick upon another.

I’ll always try to be real good because I am the mother.

I am the mother.

I am the mother.

You wouldn't understand Dar. No matter how people explain it to you, you will find a way to twist and convolute what we say to you. This doesn't mean that you can't understand, you simply choose not to understand, ignorance is bliss for you.

For anyone else that would like to know what they mean:

I understand what some of those people mean, and agree with them. Black people need to learn how to ban together, and build up our communities. Integration was "bad" in the sense that it taught some Blacks to stop doing what they were doing to build the black community. Some people lost their will for fighting to keep black communities alive. That's all I'm going to say about it for now.

This discussion would be much more fruitful in the African American Mommies group. But, we all know that you don't have the balls to post it there.

You NEVER understood those conversations....because you couldnt, didnt want to.

Now you want to have them here?  Pfft.  I know you will find some to happily go along with your "thought" process's ....a discussion it wont be.

It's sad that these discussions are never as productive as they could be.

I just don't understand . How could giving everyone the same rights and seeing past skin color be bad? I honestly feel nobody should be separated because of color, origin, beliefs, sexual preference or anything else. How is that not a good thing for society as a whole to move forward?
