The National Day of Prayer. In the U.S. What do you think about a day being declared and recognized here? Appropriate, not, don't care? Are you disappointed that Google didn't do a special doodle?

Do not care one way or the other.

Yesterday, when I was at work and caring for a critically ill infant, I was changing her bedding and notice the blanket had stitching that said, "Jesus loves you." We are not a Christian (or religious) facility.  I thought it was interesting.

As long as I'm not drug into any specific religious prayers, I don't care.

Just some brief background: every year since 1952, first Thursday of May, signed into law under Truman. (Reagan made it the first Thursday in May, btw). Source: Nationaldayofprayer.org

If it were National Everyone Must Pray Day, I could see an issue; but it's not

I think it's pretty amazing that it's recognized here. Even when I meet non believers when I ask if i could pray for them they usually say yes or even ask me to.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. I guess I never really thought about it.

It's also National Pagan Coming Out Day. :D

So, not much debate? Why a special day recognized for something that observers theoretically do every day, anyway?
