Of COURSE I found this on my Facebook feed. Attempting to guilt people into doing things there way - eye-roll inducing.

I hate that damn cartoon. I'd like to think that somebody who was TRULY defending our freedom (which hasn't actually been under attack from an outside force in quite a while), would appreciate somebody exercising their rights, and not be upset just because it happens to be a right he doesn't like.

This cartoon is stupid. I don't understand pledging to an inanimate object. The fact that people get upset over these things is silly to me. I never have said the pledge. I never will. My daughter doesn't say it in school either. I support her fully.

I remember a Jehovah's Witness kid in elementary school who didn't stand for the pledge. No one gave a shit.

A school I went to later didn't even have the pledge.

I still love my country, but I'm aware and intelligent enough to criticize it and its leaders when they do fucked up things like torture people.

By the way, in second grade, I thought, " for which it stands" was "for witches stand." Yea, go figure. I said, "...for witches stand" every damn morning, wondering WTF witches had to do with it all.

My son's school doesn't do the pledge at all and I'm fine with it, it's a public school. He wants to join the military when he grows up.

I agree. I have said it but I also never thought about it until I was much older. It seems silly now.
