Why is it that so many white people deny that white privilege exist?

I see it all the time. Even when statistics and facts are layed out in front of them they find some way to either ignore them, or make excuses for them. Because of this we rare are able to discuss it in a meaningful way.

Are they really that obtuse and blinded by their privilege?

Or do they avoid the subject because their feel their privilege is being threatened ( consciously or uncounsiously. We can't eliminate white surpremecy if people deny that it exist or stop meaningful conversation).

Quoting VooDooB: White people are selfish fuckers.

Just curious, is that a personal observation or a proven fact?

If they admit they have privilege, they'll be forced to acknowledge all of the things they've gotten but didn't have to earn or fight for. Much easier to claim others are lazy or stupid than say yourself was lucky

agreed. I think guilt and pride plays a huge role.

I am white. In my life, I haven't noticed any privileges over my Asian, Hispanic, or my African-American friends.

FFS, I didn't say it doesn't exist, I said that I haven't noticed it in MY life or in the lives of MY group of friends.

Many white people accept that white privilege exists. They just don't often frequent CM :)

While people hate rainbow sprinkles on cupcakes but they'll eat chocolate sprinkles on vanilla ice cream. Fucking hypocrites.
