Spencer Stone, French Train Attack Hero, Stabbed in Sacramento

Spencer Stone, one of three Americans who helped foil a terror attack on a French train in August, was stabbed in Sacramento on Wednesday night, the U.S. Air Force confirmed to NBC News.

Airman First Class Stone was in stable condition on Thursday, an Air Force spokesperson said.

"He is alive and in stable condition at this time," the spokesperson said. "We do not have any information as to the events preceding the incident."

Stone, 25, tackled Morocco-born Ayooub El-Khazaani after the heavily armed terror suspect opened fire on a Paris train in August.

Stone was stabbed with a box cutter during the bloody struggle with El-Khazaani, and needed surgery to reattach part of his hand. He received France's highest award, the Legion d'Honneur, along with childhood friends Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler, for his selfless actions.

Stone has said he acted in the interest of "survival" — not only for himself but for everyone else on the train.

"He seemed like he was willing to fight to the end — so were we," Stone said of El-Khazzani.

Wow. Gotta wonder if this is a coincidence.

Airman 1st Class Spencer Stone stabbed in chest

Airman 1st Class Spencer Stone, who helped take down a gunman on a train in Belgium, was stabbed four times in the chest in Sacramento early Thursday morning, Air Force Times has learned.

"A1C Spencer Stone has been transported to a local hospital, and is currently being treated for injury," Air Force spokesman Lt. Col. Christopher Karns said in an email in Air Force Times. "The incident is currently under investigation by local law enforcement. He is currently in stable condition."

A Sacramento TV station reported on the stabbing but did not include the victim's name. The stabbing happened about 12:45 a.m. on Thursday on a Sacramento street corner.

The victim suffered "multiple stab wounds to the torso," KCRA‑TV reported. Police initially did not think the stabbing victim would survive and began treating the incident as a homicide investigation, but it now appears that the victim will pull through.

Although the Air Force has identified Stone as the stabbing victim, Sacramento police have not officially named the person who was stabbed.

Why wouldn't they ID him? Strange...

So Spencer Stone was stabbed, and the other man who helped stop the same terror attack in France (Alex Skarlatos) was a registered student at Umpqua college where the shooting was last week. That is QUITE a coincidence......

I must have missed that part. That really is quite a coincidence.

Oh yeah. He was in classes and everything. He was supposed to be there that day, but accepted a Dancing with the Stars gig and was off practicing for the show instead.

The Air Force said in a statement: “He is alive and in stable condition at this time. We do not have any information as to the events preceding the incident.” as per IBTimes

Interesting how information regarding the shooting at Umpqua was with held for sometime also.

He was enrolled in classes but had not attended at all this year. The last time he was in school was in spring of 2014.

Okay. Thanks for the bitty clarification. He was enrolled in classes in 2015, and was technically due to be there that day.

Oh you mean the atheist who was a fan of the very Catholic IRA organization, but killed everyone who admitted they were Christian?

Yeah. Something tells me they are still withholding information on that guy.
