In just two days at the Port of Nogales, the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) arrested four people smuggling an estimated $650,000 of cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine.

All four arrests happened at the Dennis DeConcini crossing in Nogales, Arizona, according to a CBP press release. On October 18, a 50-year-old Mexican woman crossing through the pedestrian lanes was inspected by CBP officers and a drug canine. They found more than $57,000 worth of cocaine wrapped around her midsection.

The next day, a CBP canine team found $403,000 worth of drugs, 32 pounds of cocaine and three pounds of heroin in the Jeep of a 22-year-old Mexican man. Officers also found $164,000 in cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine in a Nissan driven by a 31-year-old Mexican man.

They also caught a 24-year-old man from Tucson, Ariz., crossing over by foot with $31,000 of cocaine in his groin. All four individuals arrested were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. From 2010 to 2015, a record amount of drugs from Mexico entered the United States.

Of how many people smuggling drugs into the country, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Sadly if we were able to completely contain smuggling, we would just see increase of drug development here in the USA

Legalise and tax.

Turn it from a LE problem into a revenue stream.
