Hillary Clinton’s security detail laughed when she broke her elbow

Hillary Clinton’s security detail hated her so much that they privately snickered after she accidentally fell and broke her arm when she was secretary of state in 2009, one of her former guards told the Post.

Clinton, then 61, was in the State Department basement on her way to meet President Obama when she took a spill — and ended up in the hospital for an operation to repair her shattered right elbow.

“We sort of got the last laugh. It was kind of like payback: You’re treating us like s–t. Hey karma is a bitch! We were smiling to ourselves,” the agent told The Post on Wednesday.

But Clinton, who frequently behaved like a diva-in-chief, according to the agent, made it worse by pointing the finger at her detail for the mishap.

“She blamed us for breaking her elbow, saying it was our fault and we could have prevented that. She’s bad news,” the agent said.

The agent’s account backed up FBI documents released this week that showed Clinton’s protective detail despised her for treating them with contempt.

“When I first met her, we were given specific instructions: don’t look at her, don’t look at her general direction and if you need to talk to her, keep it short and stay out of her way,” the agent told The Post.

The agent also said Clinton acted like she was president while serving as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013 and once made a visibly annoyed President Obama wait for her as she schmoozed with foreign dignitaries at the United Nations.

“She was treating every stop like a campaign stop for the presidency, shaking hands with everyone and looking like a presidential nominee. It was like she was running for presidency for all the years she was secretary of state,” the agent said.

The incident happened in either 2009 or 2010 during the General Assembly as Clinton and Obama were making their way into a Security Council meeting with foreign leaders, the agent said.

“She took her nice sweet time shaking hands and schmoozing with the dignitaries,” said the agent. “She made the president wait to go into the meeting. She was making a fashionably late entrance.”

The agent added, “She was basically saying, ‘I don’t wait for the president, the president waits for me.’ Obama stopped, turned around and rolled his eyes a little bit. He looked at her in a way that inferred, ‘Let’s go.’”

By contrast, the security detail loved former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Clinton’s predecessor who served under George W. Bush.

“Condoleezza Rice was a true diplomat. She built a lot of rapport with her security detail. She would talk to you about family, football, she was one of the boys,” the agent said. “Hillary didn’t care. If you weren’t in her little inner circle — Huma Abedin or Cheryl Mills – she wanted nothing to do with you.”

A Clinton spokesman did not immediately respond to a call or email request for comment.

She has got to be one of the most hated people in politics. These stories go all the way back to Little Rock.

Gee I wonder why they hated her so much? Maybe because she's a vile bitch and she treated them like dogs?

Is Hillary Clinton a ‘nasty woman?’ By her security staff’s accounts, yes

Hillary Clinton’s security detail hated her so much they laughed when she broke her elbow as secretary of state in 2009.

“We sort of got the last laugh. It was kind of like payback: You’re treating us like s—t. Hey karma is a bitch! We were smiling to ourselves,” an unnamed agent told The New York Post Wednesday.

“When I first met her, we were given specific instructions: don’t look at her, don’t look at her general direction and if you need to talk to her, keep it short and stay out of her way,” the agent continued.

Mrs. Clinton took the fall in the State Department basement on the way to meet President Obama and ended up in the hospital for an operation. She was 61 at the time.

The Post’s interview with her security agent at the time mirrors what others who have worked for Mrs. Clinton have said.

Gary Byrne, a former secret security agent who was posted outside the Oval Office when Bill Clinton was president, described Mrs. Clinton as having a “Jekyll and Hyde” personality that left White House staffers scared.

Mr. Byrne, in his book “Crisis of Character,” about his time spent on the president’s detail, portrays Mrs. Clinton as too “erratic, uncontrollable and occasionally violent” to become the next president of the United States.

Mr. Bryne’s words — along with the unnamed agent who spoke to the New York Post — were vindicated with the release of FBI documents on their investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s server. Mrs. Clinton was reportedly “so contemptuous,” many of her agents quit or sought reassignment.

“This woman said Clinton treated the agents protecting her and her staff’s lives with ‘contempt,’” the FBI document read.

It states: “[Redacted] explained that CLINTON’s treatment of DS agents on her protective detail was so contemptuous that many of them sought reassignment or employment elsewhere.

“Prior to CLINTON’s tenure, being an agent on the Secretary of State’s protective detail was seen as an honor and privilege reserved for senior agents. However, by the end of CLINTON’s tenure, it was staffed largely with new agents because it was difficult to find senior agents willing to work for her.

“[Redacted] claims to have had at least one conversation with Secret Service agents who experienced the same poor treatment,” the FBI notes said.

Mrs. Clinton, by all accounts, seems like a pretty nasty person to work for.

I know someone who worked a security detail for her. Yeah, never again..he said she is the devil incarnate. I don't doubt any of these stories floating around about how she treats anyone she deems beneath her.

Yeah, the stories seem very abundant. From state police to secret service.

One, two or even a few stories could be said to be blown out of porportion, or something but there are far more than just a few and they can't ALL be wrong. It says something too, that when books are written that include these things, well if it wasn't true I'm sure the Clintons would be making sure those books were pulled from the shelves and/or charging the author.

It's not at all surprising to me. She has pretty much always behaved as though she's above everyone else and is the only one who knows what's best for everyone, even those in other countries.
