It's not the first time there is civil unrest. Thye have a right to protest. This is a teaching moment in civics. No one is forcing her toparticipate. She was given the option of sitting on the sidelines.

The idea that schools should lose fundidng for the rest of the year is ridiuclous...

Do you  see the total  HYPOCRISY???   Students  in  college  across America  were  crying  and demanding  therapy  and safe spaces  because they  saw  the words  Trump  written  on the sidewalk in chalk.  Now  here  is a girl  who doesn't  want to  watch a protest  because  it  is upsetting  to  her and she is being treated  like a criminal.  I  can  pretty  well bet  that  the  protest  was  anything  but  civil.   They  could  have  given  her  a book assignment to do  while  the protest was going  on.

Why is it upsetting to just watch a protest? They made it clear that she didn't have to participate. I don't understand what the problem is. Protests have been occurring in our country for a few centuries now. It's good for students to see what they are. If it took place at the school then it wasn't violent. The school also said that the mother could go and get her dd. Why is that not an opition?
